2023 Banyule Award for Works on Paper
Nhalinggu Bagung (Come Gather) - Finalists’ Exhibition
The Banyule Award for Works on Paper is a prestigious national art prize, with the winning artwork entered into the Banyule Art Collection.
The theme for the 2023 Banyule Award for Works on Paper is: Nhalinggu Bagung (Come Gather). Nhalinggu Bagung in Woi Wurrung language means “come gather”.
Banyule asked artists to consider what coming together in the spirit of reconciliation means to them, and to showcase inspiration and reflection through their various artworks and perspectives.
The Finalist’s Exhibition itself is a reflection of the theme of coming together – 25 artworks, 9 of which were made by First Nations artists.
The exhibition is available for viewing until 26 November at the Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub.
